In the autumn of 2016, the FX channel released another autobiographical comedy for its viewers by Louis C.K. and Pamela Adlon (the creators of the well-known series "Louie"). The latter brought to life the character of the main heroine in "Better Things."

Samantha had big and promising plans for her life. Being young and naive, Sam decided to dive headfirst into an acting career. She dreamt of achieving success and becoming a famous and highly paid actress. In addition to that, she dreamt of having a good, close-knit family and a loved one by her side. But everything turned out differently. She had to say goodbye to these dreams of a carefree future. Sam's acting career didn't work out. She was lucky to only have a few roles in low-budget films. And her husband simply left, leaving Sam alone with their three daughters. Now Samantha is facing tough times because it's difficult for a woman with no special skills to provide a decent life for three little girls. But she doesn't give up in the face of problems. She doesn't even allow herself to feel sorry for herself. Torn between trying to make a living and taking care of her daughters, she simply doesn't have time to pity herself. Sam is an optimist. She is confident that she just needs to wait a little longer, and soon changes will come rushing into her life.
