Black Sails release date
At the beginning of 2014, the TV series "Black Sails" debuted on the Starz channel, telling the story of the times when piracy was prevalent. The story is based on Robert Louis Stevenson's novel "Treasure Island".
The plot mostly takes place near the island of New Providence, a former colony of the British Empire. In the distant year of 1715, piracy and lawlessness flourished in the Caribbean Sea, which meant that the whole island lived by the laws of that time. The terror of those waters was Captain Flint, whose adventures have spawned many stories. Together with Eleanor Guthrie, the daughter of a thief-lawyer who buys stolen goods from pirates, they devise a plan to seize the entire New Providence and achieve independence from Great Britain. To do this, they will have to capture a Spanish galleon carrying money.
A confrontation arises not only between the British fleet and the pirates, but also a life-or-death struggle. But the imperial military is not the only one vying for the captain's head - his competitor becomes Eleanor's father, who benefits from the current situation in the Caribbean.

The foreign series "Black Sails" has been canceled, which means that the 5th season will not be released in the next few years. This became known in the beginning of autumn 2017. The historical drama is produced by the film company Platinum Dunes. Its official representative announced the completion of work on the TV series.
