Fans of the series "Ekaterina" are eagerly awaiting the 3rd season to be shown in the first half of 2018. One of the producers of the show, Anton Zlatopolsky, has announced his intention to film a continuation of the series, but has not yet revealed the exact release date on air.

The final series of the second part will be broadcast in spring 2017 on the television channel "Russia-1". The production of the Russian melodrama "Ekaterina" is carried out by the film company Amedia.

Elizaveta Petrovna is concerned about the future of her nephew. She tries to marry him to a girl whose marriage would be beneficial to her, the state, and strengthen its positions in the world. Among other contenders, the charming Sofia Frederika stands out. Despite the fact that her family is practically ruined, she does not give up hope of finding true love in Russia. Having arrived in a foreign country, the beauty gets acquainted with Prince Saltykov. He is famous for his natural charm and is able to enchant any representative of the fair sex. The German princess could not resist his charm. However, she is about to meet the heir to the throne. The young lady makes a pleasant impression on him. She lives in the palace, consolidates her knowledge of the Russian language, and prepares for marriage with Peter. However, not everyone blesses the young couple. There are opponents of the union who attempted to poison the bride. Their schemes did not succeed. The lady became the wife of the emperor and received a new name. Now she needs to bear healthy offspring. But immediately after the firstborn appears, the baby is taken away from the mother and given to be raised by others.

The leading roles were played by Vladimir Men'shov, who starred in the films "Love and Doves" and "Gymslips", Marina Aleksandrova, who became famous after her participation in the films "Azazel" and "Northern Lights", Konstantin Lavronenko, known for the projects "Liquidation" and "Isayev" and many other famous artists. This TV series was awarded the prestigious film award "Golden Eagle".

The premiere took place on November 24, 2014. A total of 24 episodes were filmed. The main heroine tries to prove her loyalty to her high-ranking husband and skillfully repel the attacks of ill-wishers who weave intrigues behind her back.
