At the end of 2016, a multi-part film called "The City" will be released on Channel One. The first season of this historical series consists of eight episodes and was filmed at the "Epic media" film studio.

The script of the TV show takes viewers back more than half a century to 1961. A small province called Strunyovo is located 101 kilometers away from Moscow. This seemingly inconspicuous place is notable for having almost the lowest crime rate in the territory of the USSR, and the clearance rate for criminal cases is close to 100%. A visiting investigator, Rodion Stotsky, investigates the death of a schoolteacher in the city, but inadvertently discovers the secret of its local residents. It turns out that after the war, Strunyovo experienced a strong influx of criminals and former prisoners from prisons, and according to thieves' traditions, they "don't mess where they live". Most likely, this is why there are frequent robberies and thefts in all neighboring settlements, while the epicenter of criminals remains quiet and peaceful. Operative Stotsky intends to put an end to this lawlessness, shake up the hornet's nest, and rid the inhabitants of nearby cities of this criminal city.
