The criminal drama "Prison Break" from the FOX channel aired from August 29, 2005. The show was created based on the idea by Paul Scheuring. Until recently, it was believed that the show's storyline ended in a two-hour episode shown on May 16, 2009, but in 2015, information appeared about the release of new seasons of this show.

The plot of the TV series tells the story of two brothers, Burrows and Scofield. They grew up without parents, which brought them together as a team for life. The older brother had to go to the maximum-security correctional facility "Fox River" after he was framed for the murder of the vice president's brother. The verdict of a corrupt judge in Lincoln's case was the death penalty, in order to cover up the traces of the crime and discourage any desire for appeals. The younger brother, Michael, decides to intervene and free the only remaining relative. To do this, he organizes a robbery and ends up in the same prison, where he awaits Lincoln's execution. Thanks to his previous work in a construction company that was reconstructing Fox River, Michael tattoos encrypted blueprints on his body. Following his own plan, he decides to break his brother out of prison and escape to Mexico. Meanwhile, Scofield's girlfriend and also a lawyer, Veronica Donovan, personally investigates the case of the vice president's brother's murder in order to resolve the boys' issues peacefully and expose the crime's mastermind.
