Gunpowder Season 2

A representative of the film studio Thriker Films stated that in the case of extending the successful project "Gunpowder", the 2nd season will start no earlier than fall 2019.

The finale of Season 1 was broadcasted on BBC One in November 2017. The dramatic work is about a gunpowder plot, its supporters and opponents.

Season 2 preview

The events take place in the early 17th century. English soldiers enter into a desperate confrontation with the Spanish army. As a result of the war, followers of the Catholic faith suffer. They are forced to betray their own principles and side with the strongest. Many succumb to the enemies and sign away their powerlessness. However, there are brave citizens in the country who categorically refuse to make concessions. Powerful authorities hunt them down. They spy on ordinary mortals and keenly observe their movements. Their objective is to identify the leader of the radical activists and hold him accountable. Meanwhile, a group of English Catholics develops a dangerous plan, which involves the liquidation of Parliament and the overthrow of James I. In the event of a favorable outcome, the fearless individuals plan to deal with the ruler. They sincerely hope that their actions will put an end to the terrible barbarism and restore broken justice. Each of them realizes the incredible risks they are taking. However, the courageous heroes have no other choice. They embark on the mission.

The main roles are played by: Kit Harington, who appeared in films such as "Seventh Son" and "Silent Hill 2", Mark Gatiss, who was involved in the movies "The Favourite" and "Denial", Luke Brutton, who played in TV series "Driver" and "Heartbeat", and other actors.

The television series premiered on October 21, 2017. There are 3 episodes produced. The plot revolves around Mr. Fox and the truly faithful townspeople, who make enormous sacrifices for a bright future of the great nation.
