Knightfall release date
A historical drama series produced in the USA. Its premiere will take place in December 2017. The first season is planned to be shown on the History channel. The project's director is David Petrarca.
The plot tells the story of the Order of the Templars. In the 14th century, the knights were subjected to persecution. They were chased, arrested, and burned at the stake. The initiator of the hunt was Pope Clement. Failures in the Holy Land disappoint the spiritual leader of the Order. Sir Landry disagrees with the current situation. However, after the appearance of the Holy Grail, there is hope for salvation. This divine relic must be protected at all costs. The Order has complicated relations with French monarchs. Therefore, King Philip IV sends his army to find the Templars' camp. The knights possess considerable power, but even it may not be enough to battle the soldiers who serve Philip. Mid-October 1307 could be the time for the decisive battle between the state soldiers and the knights. In an unequal confrontation, only the spirit of chivalry can win. Soon, the organization will cease to exist. The series will show the last weeks and days of the life of this important historical community. The Holy Land will become the final refuge for the Templar Order.
