In autumn 2013, under the direction of director Sergei Bystritsky, the detective series "Pasechnik" was released on NTV. The multi-episode series with elements of action consisted of 32 episodes. The authors of the script are Alexander Turbin, Denis Karyshev, and Henry Mamoev.

The story reveals the story of Gleb Zbruev, a MUR employee. The guy is one of the best operatives and cannot imagine his life without work. Despite Gleb's talent and rich experience in conducting special operations, he is severely injured one day. Because the bullet is too close to his heart, doctors cannot remove it as the operation would simply kill Zbruev. Instead, a small device is attached to the investigator's hand to monitor his pulse. Once a month, Gleb needs to visit a therapist to make sure that the bullet has not moved closer to his heart and does not threaten his life. The main character immediately understands that with such an injury, he will not be allowed to return to work. The situation becomes even more complicated when Zbruev's wife decides to leave the family; she is not ready to take care of her injured husband for the rest of her life. Soon, life without family and work becomes tedious for the former investigator, and he moves to a small village, where he tries himself as a beekeeper. Upon arrival, Gleb learns that the villagers are constantly in fear due to the activities of a cruel maniac. The local police have already given up on catching the killer, and that's when Zbruev takes on the case.
