World War II. The fall of Yugoslavia under the pressure of Nazi Germany. The inhabitants of this country had to emigrate to Turkey. Dostan, along with his family, travels to this eastern country. But his sister stays in their homeland with her future husband. The main character ends up in Mudurnu, the center of feudalism. Poverty, devastation, lack of jobs, and the reign of banditry. The main person in this land is an "aga" named Yaguz. Dostan enters into confrontation with the local lord. He wants prosperity for his family and safety for his younger brothers and sisters. The difficulty lies in the fact that Dostan's own brother sided with the aga. He went against his brother for personal gain. The only person who supports the rebel is Yaguz's daughter. Romantic relations develop between her and the immigrant. But they need to hide it from the angry father. Nergis decides to help her beloved. She starts acting on two fronts. On one hand, the girl obediently obeys her father, and on the other hand, she provides information and supplies Dostan with material valuables to help his family.
