Jessica Biel's return was marked by her participation in the television series of the USA Network. The detective anthology is based on the bestselling novel by contemporary German writer Petra Hammesfahr, who is not only involved in cinema as a screenwriter. The first season closely follows the literary work. The continuation will also use detective stories from Hammesfahr's collection. This American-produced thriller, directed by Antonio Campos, was presented in August 2017.

The plot of the multi-series film is based on the story of a murder committed on a beautiful summer day by a young mother named Cora Tannar. While walking to the lake with her husband and one-and-a-half-year-old baby, Cora stabs a man to death. The case presents no difficulties for the police. The murder was captured on surveillance cameras. The girl doesn't try to justify herself, but claims that she saw the victim for the first time in her life. She behaves completely calmly after the crime. However, the detective doesn't find the case simple. Police Commissioner Rudolf Grovian, who has seen quite a few things in his life, doesn't believe the crime was a result of random mental derangement. He decides to uncover the motive behind the crime, committed in an impassioned state. The investigation will reveal horrifying secrets that the experienced investigator was not prepared for.
