One of the most talked-about projects of the year, "The Wizard of Lies," starring Robert De Niro in the lead role, is expected to premiere on the screens by the end of 2016. However, an exact date has not been announced.
In the director's chair was the well-known Barry Levinson, who has already earned two Oscars. His latest film about a financial fraudster has not yet been renewed by the producers, but the 2nd season may see the light of day if the ratings are high, approximately at the end of 2017.
What will be shown in the second season
The central character is a real person, Bernie Madoff, who deceived hundreds of thousands of people and affected the economic state of more than one country. In the early 20th century, together with his equally greedy and unscrupulous wife Ruth, he created a financial pyramid that deceived even the most advanced minds in the USA. In addition to this scheme, the spouses also broke the law in other ways: they provided false testimony, laundered huge sums, stole from the government and ordinary poor citizens. As a result, hundreds of lawsuits were destroyed and dozens of economies were reduced to ashes. What did this cost the fraudsters and how did they end their rapid illegal career?
