The detective series "Version" tells about the complex workdays of the special division N. This is a closed group of investigators that was created at the request of the Moscow Ministry of Internal Affairs. Police officers from this unit deal with particularly serious crimes. Investigating murders, kidnappings of high-ranking government officials, oligarchs, and other political figures falls within their jurisdiction. However, sometimes the division also investigates cases involving ordinary individuals. This happens when regular investigators from the police are unable to take action. The rate of solving cases in division N is one of the highest in the region. However, the law enforcement methods of the officers are often criticized by their own superiors. Law enforcement officers do not always act in accordance with various codes and regulations. Sometimes they have to put pressure on suspected criminals and use unconventional approaches to extract necessary information from witnesses. The backbone of the division consists of police officers who were in disfavor with their superiors. However, they could not be dismissed from the law enforcement agencies due to their phenomenal crime-solving abilities.
