The cable channel "A&E" aired the series "Bates Motel" on March 18, 2013. The show is a remake of the sequel to Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho," which changed cinema forever in 1960.

The plot revolves around the Bates family. After the death of the family patriarch, Norma, his wife Louisa and their teenage son Norman move to the small town of White Pine Bay, located in the state of Oregon. In order to start a new life together, they buy a house and a small roadside motel previously owned by the Summers family. Keith Summers, who became homeless, decides to break into the motel the day after the purchase and threatens to evict the new lawful owners. On the same day, he unlawfully enters the house and rapes Louisa, but when her son Norman returns home, they manage to disarm the criminal together. After their fight, Norman briefly leaves the motel to get a first aid kit, and in the meantime, his mother kills Keith. After some deliberation, the Bates decide to hide this incident from the police and dispose of the perpetrator's body. As the script unfolds, they will have to keep this secret from Sheriff Alex Romero and his deputy, Zack Shelby. This becomes a very difficult task, especially since Norma starts dating Zack. Meanwhile, the provincial and seemingly charming town begins to reveal its true nature...
