In 2018, the popular actor J.K. Simmons was entrusted with the main role in an American-produced scientific thriller. The title of the new project is "Counterpart". The series will be broadcast on the Starz television channel.
Howard Silk (Simmons) is an average employee of the UN. He works in a bureaucratic department. The hero's life path is nearing its end, and he sadly realizes that he hasn't accomplished anything outstanding in his long life. Every day for him is filled with monotonous struggle against routine. Unexpectedly, Howard learns that the agency he has been working for for many years is revealing a secret to the public. The hero manages to find out that it is connected to a parallel reality. From this moment, Howard enters a new life, filled with secrets and dangerous adventures. Counterpart awaits him, his Prime doppelgänger. They will have to go through many trials to understand several significant problems for each inhabitant of Earth. Among them are identity determination, idealism, the right to make choices independently, and lost love.
This spy thriller is aimed at fans of science fiction. Viewers can be confident: an exciting journey to another world and meeting with the supernatural are guaranteed to them.
