Gogol release date

At the beginning of 2017, the TV channel TNT will show the series "Gogol", the plot of which is designed for eight episodes. The show is being produced by Sasha Tsekalo, and the main role will be played by his namesake Petrov.

The script takes place during the life of the great Russian writer Nikolai Gogol, who becomes the central figure of the serial drama. Experiencing a personal and creative crisis, the main character moves to the cultural capital of Russia - St. Petersburg. There, he begins a career as a poet, writing romantic poems and publishing them in a collection with his own money, but considering his work a failure, he burns the books completely. While staying in St. Petersburg, a series of mysterious murders occurs in the poet's homeland of Dikanka, in the Poltava region of Ukraine. Young Gogol returns home to unravel the crime with investigator Guro. These adventures will become the basis for another chapter of the now famous book "Evenings on a Farm Near Dikanka". Together, they will try to catch the killer and bring justice. The new TNT series will introduce viewers to the life of Gogol himself, modernizing the mystical story a little.
