The creator of "Greenleaf" is Craig Wright, a playwright who has gifted the audience with several very good movies, such as "Lost", "Tyrant", and "The Client is Always Dead". The series reminds of real historical events; specifically, it tells the story of the Greenleaf African-American dynasty. This wicked family has a church in Memphis. In both the sacred building and the family itself, lies and intrigues prevail. Serious dramas often unfold between the characters, but despite this, they all position themselves as deeply faithful people. The role of Bishop James Greenleaf was played by Keith David, and his evil wife Lady Mae was portrayed by Lynn Whitfield. Merle Dandridge plays one of the key characters in the series. She is a child from the Greenleaf family - Grace, who visits them after her sister's mysterious death.
