A 16-episode adventure drama premiered on the NTV channel in March 2017. The film is based on information about a real scientific discovery made by an outstanding Soviet physicist in the first half of the 20th century.

Mikhail Filippov was known as a true genius. He worked on the development of a unique technology called a hypothetical beam. The talented scientist studied the influence of electromagnetic waves on the transmission of energy needed for a large-scale explosion over long distances.

In reality, in order to avoid a global catastrophe, the weapon created by the professor was completely eliminated. The series presents an alternative version of events and shows what consequences the Second World War could have had for the powerful states if it had ended up in the wrong hands.

The main character is Max Livius, a former officer. At the moment, he has left the service and is trying to pursue a career as a film director. He learns that there is a serious hunt for the secret blueprints. He is forced to leave his new job and recall his past skills. In order to successfully complete the mission, the former military man recruits his best friend, who is also a British intelligence officer named Kilby, as well as his beloved, a charming and determined NKVD agent.
