The dramatic TV series "Salvation" is being broadcasted on the American channel CBS since July 12, 2017. The duration of each episode is 44 minutes. Initially, the "Salvation" project for CBS was developed for the 2013/2014 television season, but production was delayed until October 2016.

The plot takes place at a classified Pentagon facility, where less than 40 out of 30,000 employees have access. One of them is the Pentagon's official press secretary, Grace Barrows (Jennifer Finnigan). One day, as a single mother, she learns from MIT student Liam Cole (Charlie Rowe) and Darius Tanz (Santiago Cabrera) that in 186 days, an asteroid named "Samson," accidentally observed by NASA, will collide with Earth if their classified team doesn't come up with a rescue plan... Also present in the group is Jillian (Jacqueline Byers) - a science fiction writer who is responsible for the theoretical part of the mission. Men and women are entrusted with a task that no one has ever faced before, so it is easy to understand the nervous tension of the characters throughout the show. It is also not difficult to explain the doubts of Harris Edwards (Ian Anthony Dale) - the deputy secretary of defense, who simultaneously develops his own plan to prevent the catastrophe. Both groups pursue the same goal, but their methods are different, so the series plot is not without competition, fatal mistakes, and the secrets of the powerful of the world.
