The Handmaid's Tale Season 2

Margaret Atwood, the producer of the international science fiction project "The Handmaid's Tale," as well as the author of the eponymous novel, made a statement that the second season will be released in the first half of 2018.

The final of the premiere part took place in the summer of 2017. The broadcast is handled by the TV channel "Hulu". The setting is a fictional country called Gilead, where there is complete dictatorship.

In the powerful republic, all local population must obey the military, who can sometimes be quite unfair towards ordinary mortals. They have established their own laws, for violation of which serious consequences await the people. Citizens are afraid to contradict the powerful of this world and have chosen a policy of obedience. Only officers and their families can exist normally in this difficult place. The rest do everything possible to make them feel like the rulers of the situation and enjoy comfort. Their only problem is that their chosen ones, for unknown reasons, are unable to give them the desired heirs. Therefore, they involve girls from the lower class in this matter, who cannot assert their rights. The poor girls give birth to children for the rich and then are forced to give them away. But not all of the young ladies are willing to part with their beloved children. Some decide to fight for their happiness.

The main roles are played by Elizabeth Moss, familiar to viewers from TV series "Grey's Anatomy" and "Top of the Lake", Max Minghella, who has participated in films "The Internship" and "The Social Network", Samira Wiley, who has appeared in films "Remember All" and "Nerve", and other artists.

A wide audience had the opportunity to evaluate the first episode on April 24, 2017. In total, 10 episodes were filmed. This is a story about underprivileged women who are deprived of the chance to become wonderful mothers for their babies.
