In 2017, a film saga will start on the streaming service Netflix from the directors Ernesto Contreras and José Manuel Craviotto. It is a crime drama about one of the most famous drug lords of modern times - the head of the "Sinaloa" drug cartel, Joaquín Guzman Loera.

The whole world knows the criminal under the name "Shorty" ('El Chapo' in Spanish). After the killing of Osama Bin Laden, he became the elusive number one bandit in the world and the second most influential man in Mexico. The plot depicts in detail the life of the young criminal Shorty in the distant 80s of the last century, when he started working as a regular soldier in the influential Mexican drug cartel "Guadalajara". Having reached great heights in the criminal world, El Chapo himself became the head of the drug business and for a long time evaded punishment for his criminal activities. For many years, the main character skillfully bypassed court hearings and investigation from law enforcement. He was rightfully suspected of serious crimes such as assassinations, kidnappings, extortion, drug and weapons smuggling. But luck did not follow Joaquín for long, and he finally ends up behind prison walls. But no prison is an obstacle for a criminal of such scale as Shorty.
