The Russian melodrama "Forbidden Love" premiered on the channel Domashniy on October 19, 2015. The television series, directed by Yuri Popovich, was filmed based on the book "The Fallen Star" by writer Vladimir Alenikov.

The series takes place in a rural village where two friends, Oksana and Larisa, live. Thirteen years ago, the second girl's grandmother, seeing her granddaughter fading away from love for her classmate Nikita, turns to the local witch. With her spells, she enchants the boy to fall in love with Larisa and changes Oksana's fate. Both friends successfully get married and have children. After such a long time, the magic stops working, and Nikita falls in love again with his wife's best friend, to whom he is strongly attracted. Secretly from their spouses, they meet, and by fate's will, Oksana becomes pregnant. Her husband, Makar Danilets, the local police officer, finds out about the situation and becomes the target of ridicule from the villagers. At the same time, the village enters a difficult period as the bandits keep the locals in fear, and people who resist the criminal group disappear forever. All this is happening to select the plots of land that the residents have honestly earned. Other bandits also get involved, trying to "seize" the booty. The losses also catch the main characters of the television series off guard...
