The NTV channel is preparing a multi-series thriller called "Pennsylvania" at the end of 2016. The first season of the series, directed by Vladimir Vinogradov, is expected to show 16 episodes.

The story unfolds in the remote village of Polivanovo, far from civilization. The local residents are accustomed to calling their small settlement Pennsylvania, because of the very unusual social order that has historically endured for centuries. The quiet village shocks the police after a brutal crime is committed.

The case revolves around the well-known journalist Kozlov. An employee of a well-known Moscow media outlet comes to his hometown for his mother's funeral. During the funeral ritual, in the midst of mourning, he loses sight of his 3-year-old son, who mysteriously disappears from the house. During the ensuing search, a nanny with a skull-brain injury is discovered.

The path to solving the case, as well as finding the culprit, is very complicated and can only be accomplished by a very clever team of investigators and police officers. Understanding this, the main character calls investigator Morozov, expert Dvornikova, and operative Sergeev from Moscow, using his extensive connections. The arriving police officers begin to suspect along the course of the investigation that the villagers are hiding something...
